The funding to support ITC operations comes from local and state sources.
Each ITC receives a portion of funding from the state general fund through the Department of Education line items 200-426 and 200-446. For most ITCs the total of all state funding sources accounts for less than 20% of their total operational expenditures.
It is important to note that state subsidies for ITC operations have been cut by 16% during the most recent fiscal year (FY 2009).
The bulk of operating funds come from local sources. These are based on membership dues and fees for a-la-carte services. These are generally assessed based on the number of students served by the educational entity receiving the service.
